  8. Is the writing legible when the student writes a sentence?
a. Does he/she take longer to write the sentence than expected?
b. Does he/she space the letters and words correctly on the line?
c. Does the spelling maintain its intactness?
d. Is the grammar, punctuation, etc. correct?

If these are problem areas, address each one. Students may have difficulty with writing when the language areas of grammar, spelling, etc. are added to the motor.  The brain appears to prioritize, generally in favor of the language components, resulting in a breakdown of the motor output resulting in decreased legibility.
